Mark Simpson counsels technology and intellectual property innovators to assist them in developing, protecting, and monetizing the results of their creative endeavors, with a focus on IP strategy and branding. He protects their IP assets via patent preparation and prosecution, IP counseling and litigation, and IP due diligence and opinions, and represents U.S. and global clients, with extensive representations in Europe. In addition to procuring patents, trademarks and copyrights, Mark assists clients with managing global patent and trademark portfolios and provides counseling on enforcement strategies.

Mark represents developing start-ups and established companies and his strategic advice assists clients in leveraging their IP to achieve their goals, be it obtaining investment funding, improving their position for a merger or acquisition, increasing revenue, obtaining U.S. protection for intellectual property originating outside of the U.S., or protecting their R&D investment.

Technologically, his focus is in the electrical, electromechanical, computer software and hardware, Internet technologies and IoT, and video game arts. Mark also applies his legal experience with technology and intellectual property law to the developing field of gaming and esports, and he discusses these issues on the Firm's "Lawyers With Game" video podcast series on YouTube.

Mark is frequently asked to speak domestically and abroad on various aspects of U.S. patent law, particularly when changes occur in view of high-level court cases. He is an elected Foreign Member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys, a London-based organization serving patent attorneys in the United Kingdom.
